Lower Valley commands fantastic 180 degree views over Scapa Flow. The existing croft and byre are in disrepair although have some good quality stone work. 59 degrees north were approached to design a main house for the client and an additional house for their daughter.

The design blends the existing croft and a modern house addressing the view to the south. The stone is proposed to be re-pointed with lime mortar and the new elements to be clad in untreated larch.

Planning has been approved on the project.
