Extension to existing house

The extension to the existing house was to allow the house to grow with the clients family. The design breathes new life into the existing bungalow and provides a modern, light, open plan kitchen, dining and sitting space for family living. The design utilises the sloping site to add a first floor above the open plan living area, this provides a large master-bedroom with ensuite and walk-in wardrobe with expansive views through a corner dormer window facing south-west.

The existing house was reorganised to form extra bedrooms and allow a degree of separation between living and sleeping.

The extension creates a south facing sheltered garden surrounded by existing native trees accessed from the open plan living space.
